How to Use Email Links in Glyphic

Ask Glyphic lets you quickly draft follow-up emails and open them in your preferred email app with a single click:

Depending on your setup, you might need to configure your system or browser to open these links correctly. Follow the steps below to set it up.

Set up on Windows

For Outlook (Desktop App)

  1. Open Settings (Windows key + I)

  2. Click on Apps

  3. Select Default apps from the left sidebar

  4. Scroll down and click Choose default apps by protocol

  5. Find MAILTO in the list

  6. Click on the current app (or "Choose a default")

  7. Select Microsoft Outlook from the list

For Gmail (Web Browser)

  1. Open Google Chrome (recommended for Gmail)

  2. Go to Gmail.com and sign in

  3. In Chrome, click the three dots menu (⋮) in the top right

  4. Select Settings

  5. Click Advanced in the left sidebar

  6. Click Reset and clean up

  7. Click Restore settings to their original defaults

  8. Alternatively, when you click a mailto link, Chrome will ask if you want to use Gmail - click Use Gmail and check Remember my choice

For Outlook.com (Web Browser)

  1. Open your preferred browser

  2. Go to Outlook.com and sign in

  3. When you click a mailto link, your browser should ask which app to use

  4. Select Outlook and check Remember or Always use this app

Set up on Mac

For Apple Mail

  1. Open Apple Mail app

  2. Go to Mail menu → Preferences

  3. Click the General tab

  4. Set Default email reader to Mail

  5. Close the preferences window

For Outlook (Desktop App)

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook

  2. Go to Outlook menu → Preferences

  3. Click General

  4. Check Make Outlook the default application for email

For Gmail (Web Browser)

  1. Open Safari or Chrome

  2. Go to Gmail.com and sign in

  3. When you click a mailto link, your browser will ask which app to use

  4. Select Gmail and choose Always use this app
