Email Integration

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Connect your work email account to Glyphic to bring your sent and received emails into the conversation history Glyphic already has from your calls. Once connected, emails are surfaced alongside calls and meetings on your company and deal pages, included as context in Ask Glyphic, and available as the underlying transport when you draft follow-ups from a call.

What email integration unlocks

  • Activity timeline on company and deal pages — emails to and from anyone at the account appear interleaved with calls, prep sheets, and meetings, with sender, direction (inbound / outbound / internal), and a preview of the body. Click an email to read the full thread.
  • Context for Ask Glyphic — when you ask questions about a deal or company, Glyphic can read recent email threads to ground its answer (for example: "what did the customer say about pricing in their last email?").
  • Drafting and sending follow-ups — Ask Glyphic can write a follow-up email from a call and send it from your account, or open the draft in your mail client.
  • Better matching of participants — calendar and email metadata help Glyphic correctly link calls to the right Contacts in your CRM.

Note: Emails to or from any participant at an excluded domain are not analyzed or shown in activity timelines. See Domain Settings: Internal vs Excluded Domains.

Connecting your email account

Go to Settings → Personal → Email integration and click Connect on either provider:

  • Google Mail — for Google Workspace and gmail.com accounts.
  • Microsoft Outlook Mail — for Outlook 365, Exchange Online, and outlook.com accounts.

You'll be redirected to your provider's consent screen. Approve the requested scopes and you'll be returned to Glyphic with the integration enabled.

What permissions Glyphic asks for

  • Google Mail — the gmail.modify scope, which lets Glyphic read your messages and send mail on your behalf.
  • Microsoft Outlook MailMail.Read and Mail.Send, which serve the same purpose.

You stay in control of how Glyphic uses these permissions through the email permissions panel — see below.

Email permissions

After connecting, click the gear icon next to your email provider in Settings → Personal → Email integration to open Email permissions. You can independently allow:

  • Send emails — Glyphic can send emails on your behalf when you trigger Ask Glyphic to do so. Defaults to on.
  • Read emails — Glyphic can read your emails to use as context in Ask Glyphic and on company and deal pages. Defaults to off — turn this on if you want emails to surface in activity timelines.

You can change either preference at any time. Turning Read emails off stops Glyphic from ingesting any new email and removes existing emails from activity views.

BCC logging

If your CRM or another system supports BCC logging (a special address that captures any email you BCC into it), enter that address under Log emails sent in Glyphic via BCC in the same section. Glyphic will automatically BCC that address whenever you send an email through the app — no need to copy the address each time.

How emails surface on company and deal pages

Once Read emails is enabled, every email you send or receive that involves a participant from a company appears on that company page → Activity tab and on any associated deal page → Activity tab. For each email you'll see:

  • The sender, recipients, and time.
  • The direction — inbound, outbound, or internal (between members of your organization).
  • A preview of the subject and body. Click to expand the full thread.

Calls, meetings, prep sheets, and emails are sorted into a single chronological timeline, so you can see the full conversation history with an account at a glance.

Disconnecting

To disconnect, open Settings → Personal → Email integration and click Disconnect next to the provider. Glyphic immediately stops reading new email and revokes the OAuth tokens. Existing email content already ingested for activity timelines is removed.

FAQ

Does my whole inbox get uploaded?

No. Glyphic only reads messages that are relevant to the contacts and companies you already track in Glyphic. Personal mail unrelated to those accounts is ignored.

Will my teammates be able to read my emails?

Emails are subject to the same visibility rules as calls. Inbound and outbound emails between you and an external contact appear on that contact's company / deal page, where teammates with access to that account can see them. Internal emails between members of your organization are not surfaced on company pages.

What if both Google Mail and Microsoft Outlook Mail are available?

Connect whichever provider hosts your work mailbox. Glyphic supports one at a time per user.

Why don't I see emails from a specific domain?

That domain may be on your organization's Excluded Domains list. Emails involving any participant from an excluded domain are not analyzed or shown. See Domain Settings.
